Affiliated Blind Golf Organizations

On behalf of Blind Golf Canada, we would like to introduce you to the Western Canadian Blind Golf Association (WCBGA), Ontario Blind Golf (OBG) and the Nova Scotia Blind Golf Association (NSBGA).

The WCBGA, OBG and NSBGA are to Blind Golf Canada what the Web.com tour is to the PGA. At these levels, our goal is to support existing blind golfers, develop new blind golfers, realize social and recreational benefits and promote competitive golf and sportsmanship amongst Canada’s blind and visually impaired community. For those who are interested and eligible based on their visual acuities and wishing to play at a national and/or international level, Blind Golf Canada is a member country of the IBGA and we, like your regional associations, are here to support you.

For those unfamiliar, blind golf is played by golfers who are totally blind or partially sighted (with an acuity of 20/200 or less, or a visual field of less than 20 degrees). Simply put, if you are eligible for and possess a CNIB ID card, you can play.  The rules are the same for blind golf as they are for regular golf, with the only difference being there are some accommodations, and blind golfers use the assistance and support of a sighted coach as a guide.

The WCBGA consists of the four western provinces, British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. The organization organizes the annual Western Canadian Blind Golf Championships, and helps other provincial members host their regional tournaments. Event dates can be found on the Schedule page once they have been announced.

Ontario Blind Golf, has been around for decades, fifty (50) plus years, and is the largest, and oldest blind golf association in Canada. OBG hosts the annual Ontario Blind Golf Provincial Championship, as well as events throughout the season in SW Ontario, Central Ontario, and Eastern Ontario. In 2024 OVIG will be hosting up to 10 events. Event dates can be found on the Schedule page once they have been announced.

NSBGA hosts the annual Brian MacLeod Memorial Nova Scotia Open. Event dates can be found on the Schedule page.

If you are someone who is blind or partially-sighted, come out and join us. If you are a sighted individual, get involved as a volunteer, guide or a score keeper at a tournament in your local area, or just come out and watch us. The more we can get the word out, the more people we can get involved in growing the sport, the more events and tournaments we can host.

At Blind Golf Canada our motto is “You Can Still Play!” and we are here to welcome you with open arms, and honors on the first tee!
