BGC Junior Blind Golf Program

Blind Golf Canada in conjunction with its three regional associations, the Western Canadian Blind Golf Association (WCBGA), Ontario Blind Golf (OBG) and the Atlantic Canada Blind Golf Association (ACBGA) have formed the BGC Junior Blind Golf Program which will continue for the 2026 golf season.

Blind Golf Canada, and the regional blind golf associations, are committed to inform, promote and encourage children and youth coping with blindness or vision loss in Canada to try blind golf. If you are new to the sport, or have been playing for some time and did not realize we have blind golf organizations, we encourage active participation whether at a recreational or competitive level.

BGC will be leveraging the support of the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB), and the Canadian Council of the Blind (CCB) to reach out to, and invite blind and partially-sighted children ages 7 through 18 years of age to come out, and participate at any Junior clinic to be held at BGC-sanctioned tournaments, or regional and provincial events with our member organizations. The CNIB, and CCB are national member-based organizations, and are key pathways to promoting and growing BGC junior membership across Canada. All events across Canada will include a new participant classification, Juniors.

As part of the Junior Blind Golf Program development process, BGC will provide your contact information to the appropriate blind golf organization. A member of the Board, or the Volunteer Committee will then reach out and discuss what some of the goals are for the blind golfer and their coach, interest in skill development, recreational or interest in more competitive events. Then it becomes a function of waiting for that magical day when you can enjoy the outdoors, get some exercise in, and meet other blind golfers that will no doubt become life-long friends.

Junior golfers and their families are welcome to reach out, and play their first round for free. If it is as much fun as we promise it will be, you can’t lose. Blind golf events are subsidized, and coaches get to play for free at most of the events.

BGC looks forward to a time when we, or another provincial blind golf organization can host a Drive, Chip and Putt competition for our Junior division.

2026 BGC Junior Golf Clinics

BGC is proud to continue working with the provincial or regional blind golf organizations. All equipment will be provided, golf balls, instruction and coaching, as well as the opportunity to actually play a few holes. Parents, or an authorized family member must attend along with the future blind golfer.
